Check and use your extras before your limits reset

Frank extras limits reset on 1 January. If you have unused benefits, checking your remaining limits in the Frank member area or mobile app before the end of year reset can help you understand what you may still be able to claim.

Three steps to use your extras

1. Check remaining limits

See what you’ve claimed and what you’ve got left. Log in to the Frank member area or mobile app to check your claims history.

2. Book appointments

Don’t leave it too late. End-of-year appointments fill up fast, so book early with your provider.

3. Claim on the spot

No need to claim later. Many providers can process your claim when you pay. Just scan your Frank digital card or use your physical card.

What's the difference between annual limits and sub-limits?

Annual limits are the most you can claim back for a service, or group of services, in a calendar year. They can apply per person or per membership, depending on your cover. Your cover details will show which services are included, how much you can claim and whether any sub-limits apply.

Sub-limits are smaller caps within your overall extras limit. They can apply to specific services such as dental, optical, physiotherapy, chiropractic or osteopathy. Once you reach a sub-limit, you generally can’t claim more for that service until your limits reset.

Make the most of your extras

Before the end of the year, check what’s included in your cover and what you have left to claim, then consider booking any eligible services you may need. You can claim for included extras services up to your available annual limits or sub-limits.

Check your cover fact sheet in the member area for the details.

What happens to unused extras benefits?

Extras limits generally work on a ‘use it or lose it’ basis. If you have benefits left before they reset, consider using them for eligible services like dental, physio or optical.

Can my unused extras limits rollover?

Annual limit rollover is available on Frank Bundables combined hospital and extras covers. It gives you up to an extra 12 months to use eligible extras benefits you haven’t claimed.

Once you’ve been on the same Frank Bundables cover for 12 months, your eligible unused extras limits will roll over at the next reset. They’ll only roll over once, so any rolled-over limits you don’t use in the following year won’t carry over again.
