Frank’s Simple Extras makes it simple. Get the same amount back in your pocket every time you visit, up to your annual limits. Plus, get 100% back on optical, up to your annual limit. Your limits will reset 1 January each year.

      Physiotherapy shares an annual limit with Hydrotherapy, Myotherapy, Exercise Physiology, Group Physiotherapy and Group Hydrotherapy services.

    Hydrotherapy uses specialist exercises that take place in a warm water pool to heal injuries and aid in rehabilitation.

      Hydrotherapy shares an annual limit with Physiotherapy, Myotherapy, Exercise Physiology, Group Physiotherapy and Group Hydrotherapy services.

    Myotherapy is muscle therapy used to relieve pain based on applying pressure at trigger points throughout the body. Myotherapy treatments focus on muscular injury prevention and rehabilitation.

    Exercise Physiology can assist with the prevention and management of chronic diseases and injuries through exercise.

    Acupuncture is a broad term covering techniques for inserting and manipulating thin needles into specific points on the body in order to restore health and wellbeing.

    Benefits will only be paid for one consultation and/or treatment per provider per day. You cannot claim on any herbs, supplements or pills prescribed by the provider, only consultations.

      Acupuncture shares an annual limit with Chinese Medicine and Remedial Massage services.

    Chinese herbal medicine takes a holistic approach to disease and prophylactic care and focuses as much on the prevention of illness as the treatment of it.

    Benefits payable towards consultations only and not on any herbs or medication purchases.

  • Emergency Ambulance

    Frank covers you for emergency Ambulance services by a recognised provider Australia wide.

    Does not include cover for non-emergency ambulance transport i.e. from a hospital to your home or ambulance transfers between hospitals. You are not covered for emergency ambulance where you are already covered by publicly funded ambulance services or State Government transport schemes or other schemes.

Yes. Frank believes in freedom of choice, so we pay the same benefits to any registered provider. This means you can use your regular dentist, optometrist or physio and still claim.

Yes, on most services you will have to serve a waiting period if you’re new to health insurance. With Frank (and most health insurers) you have to wait a specific amount of time between signing up and making your first claim. This is called a waiting period.

All Frank extras services have the following waiting periods:

  • 0 days for ambulance
  • 2 months for included extras (except for Optical, Major Dental, Podiatric Surgery and Orthotics)
  • 6 months for Optical
  • 12 months for Major Dental, Podiatric Surgery and Orthotics
