What are Frank Hospital Rewards?
Frank Hospital Rewards is a loyalty program to help keep hospital out of pocket costs as low as possible. Each year Frank members with hospital cover accrue Frank Hospital Rewards dollars up to the rewards cap.
If you go into hospital and have an out of pocket expense, we’ll automatically use your Rewards dollars balance to help cover the cost and minimise your out of pocket costs.
How much will Frank reward me?
This depends on your level of hospital cover. Once your Frank Hospital Rewards balance reaches the rewards cap, you will stop accruing dollars until some of the balance is used.
|Single Reward Dollars per year|
(capped at $500)
|Couple / Family / Single Parent Family Reward Dollars per year|
(capped at $1000)
|Better Hospital (no Co-Payment)||$55||$110|
|Basic Hospital (Some Private)||$40||$80|
When do I receive my Frank Hospital Rewards?
Frank Hospital Rewards are accrued in advance. You’ll receive your first reward on the day you join, and then once every 12 months on the anniversary of your join date.
The only exception to this is for members who joined Frank before April 1 2014, who will receive their rewards on April 1st each year.
How do I use my Frank Hospital Rewards?
It’s automatic. If a doctor charges more than Frank covers, and you have an out of pocket expense, we’ll pay you a refund straight into your account within a month of receiving all of your hospital claim info.
How much will I get back?
There is no cap on how much of your balance is used in a single transaction.
For example, if your Frank Hospital Rewards balance is $400 and your out-of-pocket costs for a hospital episode are $500, your entire Frank Hospital Rewards balance would be used and your out-of-pocket costs would reduce to $100.
Can Frank Hospital Rewards be used to pay my hospital excess, my extras cover claims or my premium?
No. Frank Hospital Rewards can only be used for out of pocket expenses for your medical claims (that is, Doctors billed). It cannot be used for anything else, including your excess.
