Frank Health Insurance

Glossary

Calendar year

The period of time between January 1 and December 31.

Certified age of entry

The age at which you take out Hospital cover for the first time. It’s used to determine if you need to pay Lifetime Health Cover loading and how much you need to pay. It’s kind of like an ID check for the over aged.

Claim

This is the treatment bill that you present to Frank for a refund. Your bill may be for Hospital or Extras services. Most of Frank’s healthcare providers will lodge your claim on the spot with a quick swipe of your Frank membership card. Alternatively, you can claim Extras services online through your member area and medical services at any Medicare office. Some claims may need to be lodged by post. So stake your claim today!

Couples

Couples cover is for you and that someone special. Husband, wife, defacto, girlfriend, boyfriend…Frank has open arms. Couples cover allows both you and your partner to be covered by the one membership, and to make changes to the membership details. Your cards will feature both names.

Co-payment

Co-payments are what you’ll pay to go into hospital or day surgery. And it’s only for those of you that can’t bear the thought of sharing. So if you choose a single room you’ll pay $100 per night, capped at 7 nights per admission. It’s not on all of Frank’s covers just Frank’s Better Hospital cover. Frank’s uses co-payments to share health care and keep premiums low. So if you don’t go into hospital or if your motto is ‘sharing is caring’ then you won’t have to pay a co-payment.
